VERBI
The most important part of a sentence is the verb: in Italian verbs are divided into 3 endings which are -ARE -ERE -IRE. The present tense works as follows.
Examples: PARLARE (=to speak) PRENDERE (=to take) DORMIRE (=to sleeps)
IO PARLO PRENDO DORMO
TU PARLI PRENDI DORMI
LUI/LEI/LEI PARLA PRENDE DORME
NOI PARLIAMO PRENDIAMO DORMIAMO
VOI PARLATE PRENDETE DORMITE
LORO PARLANO PRENDONO DORMONO
There are also many irregular verbs which belong to the three endings, but follow other rules. For instance, FARE (=to do, to make), ANDARE (=to go), VENIRE (=to come), BERE (=to drink) are irregular.
